Some of the very old posts may be missing them as they were all published when i started blogging and frankly speaking I wasn't fully aware of the credit methods, copyrights etc. Also my opinion on lot of this published posts eg (god, religion, political views) would have drastically changed now as I believe I have evolved at-least a little over the period of time with my experience and learning.

When I get time I will try to fully review the content. I'm trying this since 2 years (2015) and couldn't even succeed till now. Hope I will in the days to come.

Farewell to Nalayini Madam (05.01.2012)

On yesterday (06.01.2012) when i logged in my Facebook account, i was shocked to see the update in my U.G college group that Nalayini madam, our beloved lectured of Computer Science Department(Aided) passed away on 05.01.2012.

I Paused for a moment and it was so shocking for me. My thoughts flashed back to my U.G college days in N.G.M college(2004 - 2007). Through my memories i tried to recall those days. She had her own style of lecturing. She talks truly and so transparently without any hesitation that's her style.

During our first initial days in college, She made me the class representative of our First year B.Sc Computer science(Aided) which i could accept unwillingly. There were few funny incidents (because of me) especially in her class hours to pass the responsibility of the class rep to others. My B.Sc Comp Sci mates would remember those funny moments.

She sometimes shares few quotes that she come across, which we like. i could remember only some of them

"There are two kinds of people; those who do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the first group; there is less competition there." -- Indira Gandhi

"Learning is finding out what we already know. Doing is demonstrating that you know it. Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners, doers, and teachers." -- Richard Bach

"The great end of education is to discipline rather than to furnish the mind; to train it to the use of its own powers rather than to fill it with the accumulation of others." -- Tyron Edwards

"Once children learn how to learn, nothing is going to narrow their mind. The essence of teaching is to make learning contagious, to have one idea spark another." -- Marva Collins

This picture was taken at the temporary staff room near our first year class that time

She use to treat us on her birthday without fail. She liked and appreciated my presentation in Lab record notes and few other stuffs for which i always felt happy and proud. Also i have been scolded few times for the mistakes that i/we did. She just says "I understand that you are in your college days, you will have some fun too but if goes beyond the limit i ll loose my patience" I sometimes use to take permissions to move out during college time for some works for which she has always given her permission if its for a valid reason. She has even asked me to buy her medicines which i have done happily few times for the chocolate that she gives in return.

She was so happy and even treated us for we getting placed in IBM in our final days of college which we couldn't forget. Also i could still remember what she wrote in my college slam book(diary) and how she wished me with a comment on me. I think this below pic was the last picture which i took with Nalayini madam in my final u.g days

I think sharing here some of the quotes that i read would be apt

"Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own." -- Nikos Kazantzakis

"Good teaching is more a giving of right questions than a giving of right answers." --Josef Albers

"I may forget my first crush in second grade but never my favorite teacher".

Even after completing my under graduation i use to call, mail & message my friends and lecturers of college during Birthdays and other festival/celebrations. She use to happily reply to those calls, mails and messages with an enthusiasm and encouraging note that makes me so happy. This was one among them when i shared my picasa album of ug college days.

"dear hari,
good. i am very happy that u r my student remembering all of us till today.really i am too proud and had a flash back about your class.how did u get time for all these.thank u so much .god bless u to get everything in your life.all the best .take care.
bye
n.nalayini"

Now this words from Nalayini madam means so much to me for remembrance and also as one of the memory that i could cherish for ever.

"I am indebted to my parents for living, but to my teachers for living well."

May the mother nature give all the strength and support to her loved son in these difficult times and in the days to come.
May her soul Rest In Peace.
