Thought - 06 Oct'09

Today's Thought.
Quiet: Have you ever wondered why some libraries have special atmospheres? They are places where many congregate but where silence is the code. Quietness in an atmosphere means there is the presence of quiet minds, and quiet minds are not only relaxed, they can concentrate easily and create more freely. Imagine you are in the library of your mind, browsing the accumulated wisdom on the shelves of your life - listen to the silence, be aware of the stillness. Now you can really listen. Now you can really hear. Now you can really think. Now you can create. And behold, you are an artist. Did you not know that silence and creativity are close friends?

Enlightenment Thought.
A good method to remain happy and make others happy is to be flexible and adjust yourself to different people's personalities and opinions.

Self improvement Thought.
When there is love, tolerance becomes easy.

Contemplation:
Love makes us free from expectations, which enables us to accept people as they are. The more we go within ourselves we are able to discover our own strengths. We will automatically be a giver in all situations and we can tolerate very easily.

Application:
Let me think of one person in whom I am not able to tolerate some quality. I then need to tell myself that just as a mother accepts her child even with weaknesses, I will accept this person as he is. When I change my attitude towards that person I can be tolerant.

Creatively seek solutions.
To solve a problem take yourself to a contrasting environment – if it’s a work-related issue go to a cafĂ© or park. Describe the situation to yourself in the third person, as though you are talking about someone else. List every possible solution, even the wild and outrageous ones. What advice will you give your best friend – yourself?

Step back from your worries. Observe yourself and your circumstances to make your issues and options clear.
